Introduction of concentrate dewatering thickener

Working Principle of the Concentrate Dewatering Thickener
This equipment operates based on gravity settling. A slurry with a solids content of 15%-30% is introduced into the settling zone through a feed pipe. Solid particles in the slurry form flocs under the action of a flocculant, rapidly settling at the conical bottom of the thickener. The upper clarified liquid is discharged through an annular overflow trough. The deep cone design (cone angle of 60°-80°) creates a compression layer, increasing the underflow concentration to 50%-70%, achieving efficient dewatering.

Core Components
Drive System: Available in central or peripheral drive, equipped with a torque protection device.
Settling Zone: Available in diameters from 3 to 30 meters, with an internal inclined plate assembly to accelerate settling.
Discharge Device: Equipped with a frequency-controlled underflow pump or screw conveyor.
Automatic Control System: Integrated concentration meter and level sensor for closed-loop regulation.

Technical Advantages and Industry Applications
Compared to traditional filtration equipment, this system reduces energy consumption by 40%-60%, and is widely used in copper, iron, and gold processing plants. A large copper mine, for example, has seen its use of a 26-meter thickener save 2.8 million kWh of electricity annually and increase return water utilization to over 85%. The new, high-efficiency thickener also innovatively utilizes microbubble flotation-sedimentation coupling technology, further improving fine-grained mineral recovery.
