In the grinding process of building materials, metallurgy, chemical industry and other industries, the selection of ball mills directly affects production efficiency and energy consumption costs. The core difference between a single-warehouse ball mill (single-cylinder) and a multi-warehouse ball mill (multi-cylinder) lies in the hierarchical grinding mechanism: the former mixes and grinds materials, while the latter realizes coarse grinding and fine grinding segmented processing through the compartment plate.
1. Applicable scenarios of single-warehouse ball mill
Raw material characteristics: suitable for materials with low hardness and single particle size requirements (such as limestone and pulverized coal)
Process requirements: scenarios where rough grinding needs to be completed quickly or the uniformity of finished particles is not required
Cost advantage: simple structure, low maintenance cost, suitable for small and medium-sized production lines
2. Technical advantages of multi-warehouse ball mill
Graded grinding: Through 2-4 warehouses, the progressive processing of "coarse grinding →fine grinding" is realized, and the grinding efficiency is improved by 20%-30%.%
Finished product control: can meet different fineness requirements at the same time (such as mixing and grinding clinker and gypsum in cement production)
Energy-saving performance: The materials are layered according to particle size in the warehouse to avoid excessive grinding, and the power consumption per ton is reduced by about 15%.
3. Selection decision tree
If the hardness of the raw material is >Mohs level 6 or multi-stage grinding is required→ choose the multi-warehouse type
If the daily processing capacity is <500 tons and the fineness fluctuation of the finished product is allowed → Priority single warehouse type
It is recommended to configure a closed-circuit system of multi-warehouse ball mill + powder separator for the new production line
