Causes of wear of ball mill gear

Investigation and research on the causes of abrasive wear of gears in the cone ball mill of Yingkuang Machinery. The ball mill is a key equipment for crushing materials after they are crushed. It is one of the high-fine grinding machines widely used in industrial production. It is widely used and has a high exposure rate.

Ball mill gear

The grinding of the tooth surface of the large gear of the cone ball mill mainly takes the form of grinding wear and abrasive wear. Among them, abrasive wear refers to the process of surface scratches and surface material shedding caused by hard particles entering the friction surface or hard micro-convex bodies on the friction surface during the friction process. Abrasive wear belongs to mechanical wear and can be classified into three wear mechanisms, namely micro-cutting, extrusion peeling and fatigue damage.

The main causes of abrasive wear of large gears are: there are many dust particles in the working environment, especially because the slurry leaks from the bolt holes of the cylinder or the end cover of the discharge end, and enters the large gear without timely removal; the lubricant or lubrication method is improperly selected, and the grinding debris and other hard particles generated by grinding wear cannot be removed in time; the lubricant is too dirty and not replaced in time; the large gear tooth surface is relatively soft. Practice has shown that the main reason for abrasive wear is that the maintenance of large gears is not kept up, and the protection and sealing problems are not properly resolved.
