The ore dressing ball mill is a grinding equipment used in the mining industry. It can grind cement ore and other materials into ultra-fine sand or powder of about 0.074mm in size. The main grinding body is the steel ball in the cylinder, so the ball plays a very important role. So how many steel balls are needed in the cylinder of the ore dressing ball mill, and how to calculate the size of the steel balls? How to calculate the ball loading of the ore dressing ball mill?
When the ore dressing ball mill is working, its efficiency generally depends on the sum of the work done by each steel ball (the number of impacts and the impact force). Therefore, the efficiency of each steel ball must be fully utilized, which requires that the steel balls moving along different tracks (trajectories) should be limited to collision as little as possible.
1. The ball loading of the ore dressing ball mill is also determined by factors such as the hardness of the material, the particle size of the finished product, and whether water is added. When purchasing the equipment, the ball loading value in the parameters given by the manufacturer should not exceed this value for testing.
2. The sizes of steel balls are mainly 110-120mm, 80mm and 40-50mm, which can be called large balls, medium balls and small balls. When mixing, follow the ratio of large steel balls: medium steel balls: small steel balls = 4:4:2; if steel balls are added later, large and medium balls can be added.
3. According to the standard, the ball loading of the ore dressing ball mill is generally about 40% of the volume, but in actual production, the ball loading of the ore dressing ball mill is usually less than 40% or even less; this ensures that the horizontal height of the ball does not exceed the center line during production. The larger the volume of the ball, the less the ball loading. For example, the ball loading of the Ф1830×4500 ore dressing ball mill is generally about 15 tons. If the ball loading is too much, the movement range of the steel ball is reduced, the crushing capacity of the steel ball is reduced, and the kinetic energy consumption is also increased; if it is too little, the crushing capacity is limited, the contact between the material and the steel ball is too little, and the grinding cycle is prolonged. Therefore, it is necessary to choose an appropriate ball loading amount. Too much or too little will affect the ball milling efficiency and cause the ball to break.
The hourly output of the 1830×4500 ore dressing ball mill is about 4.5-12 tons, and the speed is 25.4 revolutions per minute. The output is not fixed and is also related to the size and hardness of the feed and discharge. The ore dressing ball mill has added a reasonable feed inlet design, with a larger feed volume, and no inertial impact, making the equipment run more smoothly.
